Serie A — Where to Watch

Serie A has the most unusual rights map of the big European leagues, because DAZN bought its way in almost everywhere. The Italian league sells its domestic rights in two packages — one for all 380 matches, one for a simulcast slice — and then sells each foreign market separately, which is why you can find the same competition on DAZN in Britain, Italy, Spain, France and Canada while it sits on Paramount+ in the United States.

The one thing that catches people out is language. DAZN's US service carries every Serie A match, but in Spanish. If you want English commentary in America, you need Paramount+.

Can you watch it free?

Not the league itself, in any market we checked. Serie A is not on any country's list of protected events, so unlike the Champions League final or a national team match, there is no legal mechanism that forces a free broadcast.

What is free in Italy is the cup. The Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa go out on Mediaset's main channels, Canale 5 and Italia 1, and Mediaset Infinity streams them free with ads, including full-match replays. It is a genuine free route to competitive Italian football, just not to the league.

How we define "free". Every option on this site is either a public broadcaster, a free ad-supported tier, an official free trial, or a rights-holder's own channel. We do not list or link to unlicensed rebroadcasts. Note that a VPN does not make a stream legal: reaching a service licensed for another country normally breaches that service's terms, and the bigger platforms actively block it.

The cheapest legal route

Who shows Serie A in the UK?
DAZN, and it carries all 380 matches for £14.99/month or £119.99/year. Note that DAZN does not carry the Premier League or Champions League in the UK, so it is not a general-purpose football subscription there.
Is Serie A on Paramount+?
Yes, in the United States, with English commentary. Paramount+ holds the US rights to Serie A and to all three UEFA club competitions.
Do Italian viewers need two subscriptions for Serie A?
No. DAZN has all 380 matches, so one subscription covers the season. Sky Italia and NOW simulcast three matches a round, which is a useful alternative rather than a requirement. This is the opposite of Spain, where the league really is split in two.
Where can I watch Serie A free?
The league is not free anywhere we could verify. In Italy the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa are free on Canale 5 and Italia 1, and in Germany DAZN’s free tier carries selected live Serie A matches.
Is DAZN available in Italy and Spain for Serie A?
Yes, and in both countries DAZN holds Serie A exclusively — to 2027 in Spain. That is unusual for DAZN, whose Italian and Spanish services do not carry the Champions League at all.
Does Serie A have a free trial?
Not that we could verify. DAZN has no standard free trial, though it runs a permanent free tier with selected matches and highlights in most markets, and Paramount+ does not offer one in the US.
